I was sitting at my desk (before the pandemic, back when we met with clients in person) across from a sweet lady who suddenly had tears rolling down her cheeks.

They were tears of relief and gratitude. Together, we had found a Medicare plan that met all of her needs and saved her enough money to continue making the payment on her home, despite the significant loss of income after her husband passed away.

Moments like that are why we do what we do. At National United Medicare Advisors, we believe it is our God-given mission to help and protect others, especially when life gets complicated. Whether it’s helping a widow stay in her home, guiding someone who just sold a business on how to avoid costly Medicare Part B surcharges, or simply bringing clarity to someone who feels overwhelmed by their options, the goal is always the same:

To make a real difference.

Because Medicare isn’t just about insurance.

It’s about peace of mind. And knowing that someone you trust is walking with you every step of the way, helping you make confident decisions about your health care and your future.

Mission statement NUMA

Why Trust Suzanne and the NUMA Team?

Suzanne McClain

Suzanne takes pride in advising her clients in the area of Medicare plans. She believes that it is her God-given mission to help and protect others, especially when life gets complicated. While many see her work as helping people with Medicare decisions, Suzanne sees her true role as providing peace of mind during an often confusing and uncertain time.

She thoroughly enjoys learning about her clients and then finding the best insurance solutions to fit their unique and individual needs. As opposed to simply being just their Medicare Advisor, she aspires to be a true guide and looks to form long-lasting relationships with her clients.  Suzanne’s clients have made statements such as: “knowledgeable Medicare Advisor,” “highly recommended,” “totally lost without her,” “great job explaining,” “down-to-earth and pleasant,” “a pleasure to work with,” “has my best interest at heart,” “Medicare Ninja,” among other humbling compliments.

Helping thousands of Medicare clients has earned Suzanne multiple sales awards with the various insurance carriers. Including being ranked in the top twenty nationally. Still, she considers being selected as the “Official Medicare Advisor of the Columbus Bar Association” as one of her most prized achievements.

Suzanne is a past president of the Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals.  She annually travels to Washington, D.C., to advocate on legislation that positively impacts those on Medicare.

Suzanne’s journey as a Medicare advisor began in 2008 as a Medicare insurance sales agent.  She was then hired to recruit and train others in Medicare insurance.  After she proved successful at recruiting and training those in the role of Medicare insurance sales, she was given the opportunity to partner and create National United Medicare Advisors in 2017.  Then in 2020, during the pandemic, Suzanne was presented with the option to buy out her partner and become the sole owner of National United Medicare Advisors.  She currently runs the agency day-to-day operations with her amazing team.

When Suzanne is not engaged in heroics as the superwoman of Medicare, she is busy spending time with family and serving in her church.

Tisha Bivens

I have worked in the Medical Field for 20 plus years. Starting at the age of 19 I began taking care of seniors in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health. Working with seniors continues to be my passion. I feel that our seniors deserve respect, compassion, and patience. Our seniors are our history and have a wealth of knowledge and experience about life.

While working at a Skilled Nursing Facility I worked as a Nurse’s Assistant and took care of about 10 residents on the hall I was assigned to. One of the ladies I took care of was bedbound and did not like to take showers because of the water getting in her ears. She only weighed about 70 pounds and was cold all the time. I was able to talk her into taking a shower when I worked on the hall the very first time. While in the shower, I let her test the water to make sure it was the right temperature for her, and she was pleased. Then while giving the shower, I talked her into letting me wash her hair. She was very nervous and reluctant to do so. I told her I would cover her ears while I was wetting her hair to make sure that no water got in them. I finished washing her hair and she was ecstatic that no water got in her ears. From that day forward, I was the only one she would allow to give her a shower because she knew that I would protect her ears, which in turn built trust between me and her.
This is the reason I am here, to protect and make sure our clients are on a plan that makes sense for them and their life.

I have been married for almost 30 years to my wonderful husband Daryl. We have 2 adult children. Our daughter lives out of state with her husband and our son is a truck driver. God and family are most important to us.

Although I no longer work in a medical facility, my passion is still the same; I want to make you feel comfortable so I can help you make the best Medicare decision. That is why I love it here at NUMA because it perfectly aligns with the mission to help and protect others

One experience in my work helping Medicare clients truly shaped why I do what I do. I worked with a client who suddenly lost her coverage because of an administrative error with Medicare that was completely outside of her control. After many conversations, follow-ups, and persistent advocacy, we finally received confirmation that her insurance had been restored. The very next day, she was admitted to the hospital and truly needed it.

That moment has stayed with me ever since. It reminded me how important it is for people to have someone in their corner when things feel overwhelming and uncertain. I believe caring for and standing up for others is a calling placed on my heart.

Today, I’m passionate about serving clients with honesty, compassion, and strong advocacy so they feel supported, protected, and confident throughout their Medicare journey.

Brittany O'Rorke

I grew up active and competitive, spending my childhood in gymnastics, color guard, and cheerleading. Life took an unexpected turn shortly after meeting my wonderful husband, Austin, when I received a diagnosis that ultimately led to a spinal fusion. While focusing on recovery, I was also faced with a medical bill of more than $100,000, an overwhelming experience that changed my perspective forever.

Navigating a complex healthcare situation during such a vulnerable time showed me just how quickly life can become scary and uncertain. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the stress families face when the unexpected happens, and it’s the reason I’m so passionate about helping others when their lives feel complicated.

Today, Austin and I are proud parents to two amazing kids; our daughter Bentley and our son Asher. I’m honored to do work that allows me to live out my purpose every day by helping others feel supported, informed, and protected just like I once needed.

Naomi Carroll

My dad had been suffering from Cerebral Ataxia for several years when he was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer that had spread to his hip. During this time, my parents relied solely on Social Security, while medical bills continued to pile up. I watched my mother’s health slowly decline under the emotional and physical strain of caring for my dad.

She would often tell me heartbreaking stories about calling doctors’ offices and hospitals to discuss bills and payment options, only to be met with rude and unaccommodating responses during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Watching this unfold made me realize how important compassion and understanding are in healthcare and patient support.

Through this experience, I discovered that I wanted to be someone who could help families facing similar challenges. I want to make a difference by supporting people during moments when empathy, patience, and guidance matter most.

National United Medicare Advisors has made it possible for me to make a difference!  At National United Medicare Advisors, we believe it is our God-given mission to help and protect others, especially when life becomes complicated. To us, it is never just another phone call, it is an opportunity to make a real difference.

We are committed to giving you peace of mind by being someone you can trust every step of the way. Our goal is to help you make confident decisions about your healthcare and your future with guidance, compassion, and care.

Ty Bogle

Ty grew up with an intense desire to learn and solve problems. As a child, he spent countless hours taking things apart and putting them back together simply to understand how they worked. After turning 18, he opened his own computer repair business and quickly discovered that many customers, especially the elderly, were being charged far too much and taken advantage of because of their unfamiliarity with technology.

Welcomed into their homes, he listened as they shared stories of the work performed and the high fees they had paid. The experiences reminded him of his own grandparents, and he resolved to treat every client with the honesty, respect, and fairness he would want for his own family.

Over the years, he built a solid reputation as an affordable and trustworthy technician, with every new customer coming through word-of-mouth referrals.

In 2023, through what he can only describe as God’s will, he was blessed to join Suzanne’s team. Retirement is a major milestone, and in that role he often hears both the triumphs and the struggles that accompany it. Clients sometimes become emotional as they reflect on the change, and he came to understand that retirement is not simply the end of a career. It is the beginning of an entirely new and meaningful chapter of life.

One case that stands out involved a client who had just moved from Ohio to Florida with her husband and was suddenly denied coverage. Although her Medicare had been active only months earlier in Ohio, it had been cancelled for non-payment. She had been receiving bills directly and, after the move, had not updated her address with Social Security, so the notices went to her old home. For seven months he worked alongside her, making phone calls, gathering documents, and submitting forms, until Medicare was fully reinstated and all claims from the uncovered period were paid. Once again he thought of his grandparents and felt deeply grateful to have helped someone else’s grandparent the way he would have wanted his own family to be treated.
